The Capoulade family is passionate! Raymond Capoulade, the grandfather, has collected many unusual and forgotten objects of all kinds over many years. Today, his passion continues to exist thanks to his children. Enter the Capou attic and immerse yourself in the history of our countryside and the lives of our ancestors.
Story of a happy donkey
It was while wandering around his native North Aveyron and beyond that Raymond Capoulade managed to accumulate great finds linked to the trades of yesteryear. He bought, collected, we gave him, he negotiated! And all cleverly stored in his attic of 1 m². He spoke with so much love and passion about his Aubrac, his attic, that he embarked, for a time travel, who wants to follow him, from 2 to 99 years old!
His farm is called “The Happy Donkey Farm”, a little wink to his teacher who told him “Capoulade, you are a donkey!”, a disparaging remark to which he liked to respond: “A donkey yes! But a happy donkey! ".
With his black cape, his Rourgat scarf, and his hat, Capou was one of the great figures of Aubrac. Today, his children have taken over and pass it on through their anecdotes and stories, all the love given to this Aubrac plateau and its customs.
Ali Baba's cave
This passion for old objects has been passed down from generation to generation. The whole family takes you on their fabulous journey!
Work in the fields with threshing machines, plows and various tools, you will also cross the wool and carding yarn workshop, the shoemaker's workshop, the cellar with its barrels and its necessary for the winegrower and the grape pickers, reconstruction of the classroom. Books, bells, collectible metal boxes, the first telephones, wooden boxes, clunkers, it is impossible to name them all: You have to see it to believe it !
Capou was crazy enough to the point of hang a plane in his attic, recover an old school bus, reconstruct a natural space with stuffed animals and to plant a tree monumental in its shed! And then, the magic of toys, cradles, dolls, carts, and above all, Father Capou's sleigh!
This attic is undoubtedly THE heritage of North Aveyron! A grand bazaar exciting tricks and gizmos, each with their own story. Visiting the attic is fun, friendly, but above all it is the story which is, in this place, told in the best possible way!
