Your itinerary
Step 1
Departure from Mur-de-Barrez: at Place du Foirail, turn right towards the south, rue de la Briqueterie, to reach a first intersection. Turn right, then follow the direction of Lacroix-Barrez on the D904 at the next crossroads.
Step 2
On leaving Lacroix-Barrez, take the D505 on the right to reach Murols.
Step 3
At Km 19.2: nearly 4 km after Murols, the road bends to the right to turn north-north-west. Take the small road that dips to the left, indicated by a small sign located above the slide, direction Le Batut/Pons. After a few bends, the road runs along the river to the Goul dam. At the next intersection, keep right on the main road to reach Pons, nicknamed Petit Nice, which you cross.
Step 4
On leaving the village, continue straight on the D526 which runs along the river, towards Entraygues.
Step 5
At Km 27.3: come out on the D904 and turn right to reach Entraygues.
Step 6
At Km 34.5: From the town centre, return towards the bridge. As the bridge is one-way, go up the Truyère left bank towards Saint-Amans-des-Côts to cross the river at the dam. Join the D904 and head back towards Mur-de-Barrez.
Step 7
At Km 41.6: at Coue44.693872754004sques, turn right after the Goul bridge to go up towards Izaguette.
Step 8
At Km 44: at the crossroads of small roads, continue straight ahead towards La Cassagne. At the next fork, keep left without descending onto La Cassagne. Reach La Cassagne Haute, just under the D904, then stay on the small road which goes down towards La Roque/Le Couderc/… Pass La Roque, then above Le Couderc and at the next fork, keep left, amount direction Sergeant that we cross further. After the Roccaben quarry, continue straight on towards Falières Redonde/La Fargue. Then leave the two forks on the right to descend to these hamlets and stay upstream on the left towards Rouens. Then ignore the road that goes up to Rouens and continue straight towards Valon and Gally.
Step 9
At Km 54: join the D97 which connects Lacroix-Barrez to Valon. Turn right to visit the castle before going back to Lacroix-Barrez.
Step 10
At Km 60: at the crossroads with the D904 at the entrance to Lacroix-Barrez, turn right to return to Mur-de-Barrez. Reach Place du Foirail via Rue de la Briqueterie, taking two left turns to enter the town centre.
