Discover 4 villages of Carladez, overlooking the Gorges de la Truyère, to finish in style in the Bromme valley, with the Plomb du Cantal in the background.
A beautiful summary of Carladez, meeting its hamlets, stone crosses, barns, stables, slate roofs. The walk continues to the north-east to allow you to discover the village of Brommat, and its imaginary path "along the water". Don't miss its beautiful church topped with its comb bell tower.

Your itinerary

Getting to the starting pointto report a problem

Step 1

From Mur-de-Barrez, at Place de la Corette, turn right heading south, rue de la Briqueterie.

Step 2

At the first intersection, turn right.

Step 3

Turn right, then follow the direction of Lacroix-Barrez on the D904.

Step 4

At Km 1.2: at the Mur-de-Barrez exit, turn right on the D13 towards Taussac. 

Step 5

In the village, at the village hall, head towards the church to find the D13 a little further. Cross it and continue straight on towards Masclat, along the cemetery. At the first fork, keep in the direction of Masclat, on the left, then when arriving at the hamlet, stay on the same road which heads due east on the left. Cross Cros and join the D904.

Step 6

At km 7.9: turn right and follow the D904 towards Lacroix-Barrez.

Step 7

At Km 10.7: leave the D904 at an iron cross for a small road on the left towards Vilherols/Bars. At the entrance to Bars, turn immediately right towards Lacroix-Barrez.

Step 8

Go past the cemetery and take the first right towards Fraysse (and cross the hamlet of Bars-Bas). Then left again.

Step 9

Km 15.9: at the crossroads at the entrance to Fraysse, turn right towards Feyt, then immediately left towards Feyt/Grange de Bars. Cross Feyt and go down to Grange de Bars before going back up by the same route to the T-junction located at the entrance to Fraysse.

Step 10

Km 22.4: turn left, direction Calvet, but stay on this small road which joins the D97 further on.

Step 11

Km 24.5: turn right and reach the crossroads with the D904. Cross it to go opposite in the direction of Murols. 

Step 12

In front of the school, turn right opposite, direction artisanal zone and La Fage. Bypass the small basin to the right and return to the D904. 

Step 13

Km 27.2: turn left on the D904 and return to Mur-de-Barrez.

Step 14

Turn right towards Brommat on the D98 to Brommat.

Step 15

Cross the D900 to go just opposite and go up towards the church, then the school above.

Step 16

At the school, take the second small road which goes to the left, direction Roustan, and follow the left bank of the Bromme until you reach the D575 under Côte Blanche. Turn left and go up to the crossroads with the D900.

Step 17

Turn left to go up towards Mur-de-Barrez.

Step 18

Leave the departmental road to go up the rue de la parro and reach the place de Monaco.
