Your itinerary
Step 1
Departure from the place of the bull, where sits the bronze Bull of Laguiole sculpted by Georges Guyot, in 1947. It is the symbol of the Aubrac breed. Follow Allée de l'Amicale and continue along Rue de la Violette. Opposite the car wash, turn right and immediately left (direction "Durantet") below the supermarket (Tour des Monts d'Aubrac).
Step 2
Pass by the Rataboul quarry, and continue for 300 m. At a wrought iron cross, turn left on a wide shaded path. Cross the hamlets of Rocagel and Le Séguis (traditional houses), at the last houses, in a bend, take a sunken path on the left bordered by low walls. Reach a crossroads, turn right on a path that leads to the road to Durantet. Leave the farm on the left and continue to the right until the crossroads (side point 1121).
Step 3
Continue to the left for 2,5 km, an old paved road, which runs along the “Capel de Fer”. Along this road you can see burons.
Step 4
Arrived at the Abiouradous farm (means “watering troughs”), pass behind it to reach the Bois de Laguiole. Enter the forest through the passageway and continue for 500 m.
Step 5
At the intersection, take the first path on your right. Continue right.
Step 6
At this crossroads, turn right. Continue towards the Nuech stream and cross it. Continue on the path in the pasture on the edge of the forest. Continue in the pastures following the path (watch out for herds of cows). Cross the barrier to the right of the drinking troughs.
Step 7
At the crossroads, turn right. Leave the buron de l'Hom on your left and behind you the *** restaurant of Sébastien and Michel Bras located on the Puech du Suquet.
Step 8
At the intersection, go straight down the small paved road. Reach a more important road (the D 15). Cross it and take the path opposite, continue straight ahead, pass behind the cutlery, the craft area, follow the signs "Any direction", near the campsite and arrive at the village of Laguiole. In the center of the roundabout, the sculpture of Michel Besson, representing a pneumonanthe gentian. Arrive at the Place du Taureau.
