Le buron de Pleau
A hike to the summit of Carladez: exceptional view of the Monts du Cantal. Then a cozy atmosphere in the woods of Taussac.

Description
From the Corette car park, leave the REVEO electrical terminal on your right, and head straight towards rue de la Briqueterie. After 400m, at the crossroads, turn right onto the main street (Avenue du Cardinal Verdier). At the next crossroads, follow the D904 towards Lacroix-Barrez. Cross at n°52bis, then, at the first intersection, turn left towards Pleau. At the crossroads (in the bend) head towards the “La Sapinière” housing estate, follow it and go straight down to the track at the bottom of the housing estate. Follow the track to the hamlet of Pleau.
At the entrance sign, cross the road and take the path on the left for 50m. Then cross the road again and take the asphalt track towards the Fitness Center.
Enter the woods by taking the path slightly to the right (behind the fitness center). 20 m further, turn right (360°) towards the path which goes up. Leave the next two paths on your left and continue to the right going down. At the crossroads, take the path on the left (360°) going up. At the entrance to the bend, keep left until you exit the woods. Walk along the pasture towards the fir forest and the buron located at the top of the Pleau mountain. Arriving at Buron, you will discover the Monts du Cantal to the north (from right to left: Plomb du Cantal, Puy Griou and Puy Mary); in the foreground: the town of Mur and the castle of Venzac; to the east, the Aubrac mountains.
Leave Buron via the track which goes down towards the D904. Before arriving at the departmental road, after the EDF building, take a path on the left, between the trees. Walk along the housing estate. At the crossroads, stay on the left and go around the housing estate on the tarmac road towards the D904, cross it and immediately take the small road on the right below. Cross the hamlet of Cancelade (beautiful old houses).
At the exit of the hamlet, at the crossroads, stay left and continue on the small road for 300 m, in the bend turn 90° to the right and follow a sunken path until the housing estate, turn left towards the Equestrian Center.
Opposite the Equestrian Center, go down the track on the left to the small road, then turn right towards the town of Taussac. At the entrance to the village, follow the main road on the left, then at the crossroads, opposite the Calvary, turn left to continue on a tarmac road (for approximately 100m). At the crossroads, turn right, cross the main road towards the church. After the church (20 m), turn right into the lane which climbs towards the Maison du Bois, follow it on a grassy path.
At the next intersection, turn left onto a sunken path (Sentier de l'imaginaire, in the opposite direction – markings with pyro-engraved wooden panels). Beautiful views of Mur-de-Barrez and the Monts du Cantal. Go down into the woods towards the green theater, then along the stream to the footbridge. At the barrier (sculpted she-wolf), go down a wide track to the stream then take the GR465 (red and white markings). Follow the GR (steep climb) to Mur-de-Barrez, passing through the place called “Le Verdier”, then turn left towards Mur-de-Barrez. Come out onto Place de Monaco (shops, cafes), pass in front of the CIC and, facing the Monaco Tower, take rue du Faubourg on the right and go up to the Corette car park.
