It is a rare little museum, aimed at all audiences. For the most curious, it can be a real discovery of the great man, who is at the origin of the construction of so many churches in France: Cardinal Verdier, archbishop of Paris (1929-1940)

Nestled in the crypt of the church, these are the objects that belonged to him, but also family memories, letters, photos, diaries and documents of the highlights that punctuated the life of this cardinal builder, born a little shepherd in Lacroix. - Cross out.  "The cardinal builder" born February 19, 1864 in Lacroix-Barrez, Jean VERDIER studied at the Séminaire de Rodez and entered the Sulpicians in 1886. On April 9, 1887, he was ordained a priest and taught at the Séminaire de Périgueux, which he directed from 1898 to 1912\. From 1912 to 1920, he belonged to the Faculty of Theology in Paris and was superior of the Séminaire des Carmelites. In 1923 he was appointed honorary canon of Notre-Dame de Paris and, from 1926 to 1929, led his congregation as superior general. In 1929, he was appointed vicar general of the diocese of Paris and protonotary apostolic then, the same year, archbishop of Paris. On December 16, 1929, Pope Pius XI created him cardinal-priest attached to the church of Santa Balbina. As legate, he represented the pope on numerous occasions in France and abroad. In 1931, he launched the work of the Chantiers du Cardinal, building 110 churches in Paris and the Parisian suburbs, but also in France. He died on April 9, 1940 in Paris. He was buried in Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris.
