Espace EDF Truyère de Couesques

Located in the former control room of the Couesques hydroelectric power station (1950), Espace EDF Truyère is both a place to discover the industrial heritage of the Truyère and the Lot, a place to learn about water. -energy.

Following work in 2023, reopening in spring 2024, specific dates in progress. 

Discovery on a guided tour 

This site, operated by EDF, consists of a production plant and a dam built between 1945 and 1950. Inside, an information space has been set up to welcome the public and help them discover in a fun and interactive the history of hydroelectricity. By looking at the engine room or listening to the start-up of the turbines, visitors understand how these structures work and the role that the oldest form of energy, hydraulic energy, plays in the energy transition.
