Valon – Wonderfully Beautiful! The view is surprising from the heights of Carladez and Aubrac, like an eagle's nest in these fabulous Gorges de la Truyère: it intrigues... the desire to see more is not long in coming.

The Castle is open to visitors, once you have passed the main door, you have plenty of time to make beautiful discoveries: this XNUMXth century feudal castle becomes yours.

Enter a world of history, tales and legends!

Beautiful moments are to be experienced there. The restorations and developments carried out in the Chapel, the kitchens, in the keep and its superimposed rooms invite you on a beautiful journey through time. The keep staircase built into the thickness of the walls in the 25th century (in its original state since) takes you on an adventure to the keep terrace XNUMX meters higher. The view of the magnificent valleys and the horizon is incredible. The village is just as remarkable: walks, visits, picnics, ... stone walls and slate roofs, nature and landscapes - it's all breathtaking.

Free visits are offered to you: A scenography to go behind the scenes of life at the Château as in the 14th century. Our two mascots “Jacques and Lucie” tell us through stories, drawings, anecdotes, architectural plans, orientation tables….the life of the inhabitants of the Château de Valon in the Middle Ages! To find out more, contact us at the Tourism information point at the Château reception.

Guided and animated tours by reservation.

Looking forward to welcoming you to the castle!
