In order to preserve everyone's safety, the Aubrac Carladez Viadène Community of Communes has chosen to postpone the opening to the public of the Valon site initially scheduled for April 6, 2024.
The month of April will be devoted to work to secure the castle.
See you soon to wander again between the kitchen and the dungeon with always free tours and commented tours for the happiness of all. "

The Castle is open to visitors, once you have passed the main door, you have plenty of time to make beautiful discoveries: this XNUMXth century feudal castle becomes yours.

You have entered a universe made of history, tales and legends!

There are beautiful moments to be had there. The village is just as remarkable: stroll, visit through the streets, picnic, ... stone walls and slate roofs, nature and landscapes - everything is breathtaking. The restorations and fittings carried out in the Chapel, the kitchens, the dungeon and its stacked rooms invite you to take a wonderful journey through time. The dungeon staircase built in the thickness of the walls in the 25th century (in its original state since then) takes you on an adventure to the dungeon terrace XNUMX meters higher. The view of the magnificent valleys and the horizon is incredible.

Free tours are offered to you: A scenography to go behind the scenes of life at the Château as in the 14th century. Our two mascots “Jacques and Lucie” tell us through stories, drawings, anecdotes, architectural plans, orientation tables….the life of the inhabitants of Valon Castle in the Middle Ages!
