Steps

Your journey will take place over 3 days, your starting point is the medieval village of Entraygues-sur-Truyère where the Lot meets the Truyère in order to continue their journey together to the Garonne. The recommended period: from April to June and in autumn.

  • Day 1: from Entraygues-sur-Truyère to Saint-Hippolyte (18 km)
  • Day 2: from Saint-Hippolyte to Molières (24 km)
  • Day 3: from Molières to Entraygues-sur-Truyère (26 km)

the landscapes

On your way you will come across hamlets with traditional dwellings, easily recognizable by their slate roof and their walls made of lime and stone. You can also admire the dams Couesques and Brézou where nature is at the service of man to produce electricity in the valley.

Hiking Lo Camin d'Olt

During your journey you will reach the magnificent village of Valon and its castle of the twelfth century. At the foot of the castle, you will appreciate the view of the Truyère gorges from the belvedere, the coultades or coltadas in Occitan. These are terraced plots where wheat was grown in the Middle Ages. After taking the paths lined with dry stone walls, crossing the Bromme stream and the Truyère, you dive through the woods and arrive at the belvedere of the cascade du Dog Jump.
