Description
The start : Therondels
A bucolic walk through the bocage landscape north of Thérondels and beautiful views of the Monts du Cantal. On the menu of this route which travels between Siniq in the west and Hirondelle in the east, pastures, crops (discover the workshop for identifying cereals grown in the region along the way), and agricultural hamlets of Casternac and Fieux before reaching the town of Thérondels. And in case the weather gets bad, it will be easy for you to shorten the stage as you wish or almost!
POINTS OF INTEREST:
– On the plateau at an altitude of almost 1000m, the village of Thérondels is made up of beautiful basalt houses and slate roofs, a “gentle mountain spirit”, its Romanesque church is open and its 12th century wooden Christ is remarkable.
– At the end of your journey, do not miss to discover on foot the small loop of the path of the imaginary “and the peasant created the meadow”, short and easy 1,7km, you then pass in front of the cheese cooperative in Thérondels (its country cheeses: Cantal, Thérondels, aligot,…) Possible visits: 05 65 44 24 32
