The festival of Transhumance celebrates each year the Aubrac cow who are dressed in a thousand flowers for the occasion. Many activities to discover the identity of Aubrac, in the village of the same name.

THURSDAY MAY 23, 2024

Discovery evening from the plateau at 20 p.m. at the ND des Pauvres Church in Aubrac.
– Veici Fri show! with the Sirventes company. 2 bubbly girls (one an extravagant singer and actress, the other a lively storyteller). Story of a breeder in Occitan language.

– Tasting of local products (meat à la plancha Boeuf Fermier Aubrac and Laguiole AOP cheese)

– Round table around livestock farming in Aubrac

FRIDAY 24 MAY 2024

Coach tour for the day – to discover the heritage and landscape of Aubrac and the Lot valley, picnic taken from the bag to be provided by the participants.
Includes transport and visits to the Vignerons d’Olt cooperative cellar and visit to a farm – meeting with the breeders. Departing from the village of Aubrac at 10 a.m.

Saturday May 25 2024

- Discovery walk around the village of Aubrac: About 2 hours, 8 km. At 14 p.m. or 16:30 p.m. Accompanied by a professional guide, you will explore Aubrac: its fauna, flora, geology, etc.

SATURDAY 25 AND SUNDAY MAY 26, 2024

- Aubrac Terroir Fair : Under a marquee located on the road to St Chély d'Aubrac. All day from 10 a.m. to 19 p.m.
Stands from Aubrac producers, tourism in Aubrac, presentation of animals, musical traditions, exhibition of bells, presentation of folk instruments, etc.

- Reconstruction of a buron (in front of the Salon du Terroir on Saturday and in Fontanilles on Sunday)
-Sculptorwith the chainsaw – Free. Without reservation.
-Introduction to paintingby reservation on 06 35 95 89 45 – free.



SUNDAY 26 MAY 2024

– Place des Fêtes: passage and stopover 8 herds in transhumance from 10 a.m. on the Place des Fêtes in Aubrac – presentation of breeders and breeding practices in Aubrac. Arrival of a herd every hour.


- MEAL of the association – meal tray, under heated marquee:

Menu: local charcuterie, Aligot de l'Aubrac, Aubrac meat (Aubrac Label Rouge Farm Beef and Aubrac Flowers), Laguiole AOP cheese, dessert, coffee, and Marcillac and Estaing AOP wines.

–> Mountain lunch, 29 € / pers. (15€<10 years)
Several times: 12 p.m., 12:30 p.m., or 14:30 p.m.

–> Dinner dance, 32 € / pers. (15€<10 years)
“La Nuit de l’Aubrac”: meal at 20 p.m., followed by a ball with the orchestra Gilles Saby, hosted by the folk group Lo Bourreïo d'Olt

–> Small hunger and refreshments : Aubrac / Aligot or Truffade meat skewers, to take away (€14) in Aubrac and Fontanilles, without reservation.


– Meeting with transhumant breeders and their herds on a summer pasture (stopping of several herds) on the Fontanilles site (2 km from Aubrac), without reservation. With: exhibition of old agricultural equipment, folkloric activities, carriage ride, reconstruction of a buron, etc.

- COMPLETE !!!  Prairie flora walk : brief hike with comments on pasture plants (several times). Duration: approximately 1 hour. . Departing from Fontanilles. Free. By reservation at OT Tourisme en Aubrac (contact details below).

- Church Notre Dame des Pauvres: mass at 11 a.m. and blessing of a flock at 12 p.m. Guided tour of the church in the afternoon, without reservation.

- COMPLETE !!!      “Transhumance herd accompaniment” hikes loop of approximately 12km with accompanying guide. Hike followed by a transhumant herd for approximately half of the circuit to return to your starting point. Hiking €22 / person. By reservation OT Tourisme en Aubrac.!!! 

– Throughout village d'Aubrac: musical entertainment and folk dances

- Church Notre Dame des Pauvres d'Aubrac: mass at 11 a.m. and blessing of the flocks at 12 p.m.

- Botanical Garden de l'Aubrac: free visit and exhibition all day without reservation.

- House of Aubrac : visit audiovisual area and exhibition.

– Amateur and professional competition painting, prize giving at 17 p.m. (reservations at 06 35 95 89 45).

– St-Chély-d’Aubrac road: Brive market of regional products in the open air (in parallel with the Salon du Terroir), then wooden gamess.

Free shuttles between Aubrac and the car parks, and between Aubrac and Fontanilles



Entrance to the party is €8 per person (free for under 16s). A bracelet is given to you for any payment of this entry. No reservation in advance, payment is made on arrival in the village on Sunday.

The parking of camping-cars is authorized on abandoned roads around the hamlet of Aubrac (route de Saint-Côme-d'Olt) from Thursday May 23, no reservation for these locations. The price is €20 per motorhome regardless of the length of parking (a box emptying tank will be made available) (sticker to be collected at the info stand in Aubrac). To this price must be added the 8€/pers. entrance to the party.

NEW: Transport to reach the village of Aubrac on Sunday May 26 : 2 bus lines are set up:
– departing from Mur-de-Barrez, with stops at Ste-Geneviève-sur-Argence, Laguiole and Bouyssou Station;
– departing from Rodez, with stops in Bozouls and Espalion.
For 4€/pers. (return) (add entry to the party of €8/pers.), reserve your places to avoid having to travel your personal vehicle.
Reservations required before 23/05/24 in the Tourist Offices of Mur-de-Barrez, Ste-Geneviève-sur-Argence, Laguiole and St-Chély-d'Aubrac.
