La Maison du bois : visite

La Maison du Bois is part of and an extension of the imaginary trail on the theme of wood and the forest, "the magic forest".

The space open in summer is made up of 3 parts:

- La Maison Manhes: unoccupied for nearly a century, this beautiful Aveyron house was acquired by the municipality of Taussac in 2009, with its furniture, linen, crockery, and intimate objects that tell us about the daily life of a family before World War I.

- L'Epicerie de Cécile: a tiny shop on the ground floor, a modest bedroom upstairs, L'Epicerie de Cécile punctuated the lives of Taussacois until the 50s.

- The Wood Space: attached to the Maison Manhes, a vast exhibition space dedicated to the wood trades.

- The Garden of the Five Senses: open all year round to see flowers in all seasons, smell aromatic plants, taste all kinds of fruits, listen to the water circuits and the buzzing of insects, touch the bark of trees …and contemplate a beautiful set of slate roofs from the highest point of the village.
